Winery
The Castellare di Castellina wine cellar was born in Castellina in Chianti, in the heart of Chianti Classico, from the union of four estates (Castellare, Caselle, San Niccolò and Le Case) made by Paolo Panerai with the aim of producing wine of the best possible quality. Those were the 1970s when the so-called Renaissance of Italian wine had begun. From the beginning, the famous Tuscan winery made a great contribution to the "Renaissance," holding tradition and innovation together. Tradition in caring for the vines and soils, distinguished between campi and sodi (where campi are the easiest soils to work and sodi the hardest but best plots for growing vines), in choosing to still make a wine according to the Tuscan-style method of governance, in respecting Chianti Classico by using only indigenous grape varieties, and in producing a great wine, recognized internationally as one of the greatest reds in the world, using only indigenous Tuscan grape varieties.
