Susumaniello is an ancient black grape variety indigenous to Puglia, which in the distant past was much cultivated, especially in the Itria Valley. The name refers to its very high productivity, so much so that it was called 'loaded like a donkey'. Previously used as a secondary grape in the various blends with other black grape varieties in the area, it was then abandoned for a long period, before being rediscovered in recent years for its pure vinification. Today, Susumaniello still remains rather unknown in the national sphere but is beginning to gain ground, thanks above all to its good structure, elegant aromas and pleasant tannins.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
