The grapes come from the hilly areas of the Oltradige, at an altitude of 400 to 500 m above sea level in well-ventilated vineyards. The production soil is rich in minerals, formed from glacial-age sediments and characterised by volcanic porphyry. Pinot Grigio yields small bunches with rust-coloured, almost brownish grapes. Pinot Blanc and Pinot Grigio grapes, which belong to the same family as Pinots from Burgundy, are sometimes found on the same stock. Its flavour is delicate and smooth.
