Produttori di Manduria is the oldest cooperative in Apulia.
The Cantina's adventure began in 1928 when a small group of 'enlightened' wine growers took over an old factory and created the 'Wine Federation', an association of producers that four years later, on 9 July 1932, formalised its legal status as a cooperative with the establishment of the 'Consorzio Produttori Vini e Mosti rossi superiori da taglio per la zona di Manduria'.
Today, the Cantina has around 1000 hectares of vineyards, half of which are still cultivated using the traditional alberello system, and strenuously defends the work of 400 small wine craftsmen, the only ones who can boast the appellative of Maestri in Primitivo.
Description
Apulia is the land of rosé wines and Negroamaro has always been one of its most illustrious interpreters. It owes its name to the precious pink coral of the same name.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Soft, crystal-clear coral pink colour. Characterised by a clear olfactory picture that opens on typical hints of wild strawberries, currants and raspberries. This is followed by scents of peach blossom, mingling with pleasant saline sensations. The palate is fresh and agile, supported by a solid acid thrust and perfectly measured in softness. The finish is fruity and citrusy.
Storage time:
2-3 years
Vinification
Short maceration on the skins directly in the fermentation tank and fermentation in white wine at a controlled temperature (18°C), followed by short ageing in stainless steel before bottling.
