Description
Villa Schinosa's Moscato di Trani DOP is the emblem of Apulian oenological excellence, a sweet wine that encapsulates centuries of history and tradition. This vine, probably of Greek origin and widespread in the Mediterranean, finds an ideal habitat in Trani, with its specific Denominazione di Origine Controllata obtained in 1987, thanks to calcareous soils and a microclimate that enhances its peculiarities.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Brilliant golden colour, with citrus notes and a broad, harmonious bouquet. The taste is rich and complex, with an aftertaste that brings with it the freshness of sea breezes and a lingering hint of almond.
Storage time:
2-5 years
Vinification
The Moscato Reale di Trani grapes are left to dry on the vine for about a month until mid-October, and are then harvested and vinified. The grapes are destemmed and after 24 hours of cold maceration, fermentation of the pure must begins at a controlled temperature of around 16° C. Once alcoholic and malolactic fermentation is complete, the wine is filtered and stored in the winery's cellars to await bottling, which is carried out no earlier than 1 March following the harvest, as required by the Moscato di Trani PDO regulations.
