The winery founded in 1961 is inspired by the genius; Leonardo drew inspiration from nature in the vineyard and had an authentic, everyday relationship with wine: intimate aspects that we find throughout his life, thanks also to codes and texts handed down to us today. His passion for viticulture began in his early years in Vinci, a village in the Tuscan countryside. Leonardo intuited the way to obtain quality wines through meticulous observation of all the natural phenomena that lead to the full ripening of the fruit of the vine and through the invention of tools and techniques to optimise the transformation of grapes into wine. The company has reconstructed an oenological method deduced from the instructions of the Genius, calling it Metodo Leonardo®, which has been registered and is jealously guarded because it is the key to the quality of their wines. Cantine Leonardo da Vinci has set itself the objective of enhancing the production of its members' vineyards through practices aimed at the pursuit of quality, both in the oenological and agronomic fields.
Description
The bottles of the Monnalisa wines are conceived as a tribute to the 'Genius' and, in particular, a tribute to his most celebrated, most viewed and best known work. Leonardo da Vinci, in fact, to dress the three Monnalisa wines, held a contest in which artists of all specialities, from street to tattoo art, from photography to painting, were involved to create their personal interpretation of the Mona Lisa. The traditional paper wine label has been replaced by a special printing technique done directly on the glass of the bottle, with a tactile 'relief' effect that emphasises the work, making it almost concrete and real. A rich, satisfying wine with intense aromatic power.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Intense red colour, with hues between violet and purple. Notes of red fruit and black pepper are typical of this part of the Chieti Apennines, with hints of blackberry and gooseberry, as well as a hint of dried fruit and cocoa. On the palate creamy texture and minerality influenced by the proximity to the sea.
Storage time:
2-6 years
Vinification
fermentation and ageing in stainless steel tanks
