At 550 metres above sea level, in the village of Montemilletto amidst natural beauty, lies Tenuta del Meriggio. 35 hectares of property in the heart of the Irpinian territory of the most important appellations of Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo and Taurasi.
The estate's vineyards are located within areas specifically suited for that native variety cultivated according to the principles of integrated pest management. Amidst the picturesque ups and downs of the Irpinian hills, the vineyards of the Meriggio Estate play around 25 hectares, covering no less than eight different municipalities: Montemiletto, Taurasi, Tufo, Santa Paolina, Paternopoli, Pietradefusi Candida and Montefalcione. The Estate's philosophy is based on the productive choice of using, and making the most of, the grapes from its own vineyards, starting from the certainty that they are planted on exceptionally suitable soils and in the conviction that quality is born first and foremost in the vineyard. Respect for the 'terroir', therefore, understood as the indissoluble interaction between pedoclimatic factors, planted vines, human intervention through up-to-date cultivation systems, modern winemaking techniques and traditional methods of ageing in the cellar, represents the only way to strive for the highest quality
