Cellar
The success of the Vulture wines in Basilicata today depends largely on the tenacity and talent of the Paternoster family, who have believed in and invested in the potential of the indigenous grape for over a century. However, it was Pino, the founder's son, who elevated the art of viticulture and winemaking by planting the first seeds of modern success. Today, his grandson Fabio Mecca brings continuity to an oenological vision balanced between tradition and modernity. Paternoster's organically managed vineyards rise to an altitude of 643 metres. The property's twenty hectares are divided into small parcels among the districts of Barile. The soils are of volcanic origin with a complex and varied geology that cannot be synthesised into a single expression. For this reason, the vineyards are jealously guarded by winegrowers who recognise every nuance of their land and its fruit.
Description
The word Synthesi is intended to encapsulate all the nuances necessary to understand an important wine: the complex Aglianico variety, the grand volcanic earth is interpreted by the hands of oenologist Fabio Mecca. Often harvested in mid-November, it is a high-acid variety with powerful tannins. The Paternosters are great masters in the use of wood to tame the powerful Aglianico, transforming it into extraordinary balance and harmony.
