Description

Château Lafleur-Gazin, strategically located in the Pomerol appellation, is close to such prestigious neighbours as Château Lafleur and Château Gazin, from which it takes its name. This estate benefits from an exceptional terroir for viticulture, characterised by the classic combination of clay and gravel that defines the best sites in Pomerol. This privileged location allows Château Lafleur-Gazin to produce wines that reflect the essence and complexity of this renowned wine region. Obtained for 70% from Merlot and 30 % Cabernet Franc. It is an excellent wine to approach the Merlot of Pomerol through an accessible and reasonably priced wine.

Organoleptic characteristics:

Luminous ruby. The nose is distinguished by its aromas of black fruit, myrtle jelly on a vegetal and balsamic background that evolves into toasted scents, coffee, spices, smoke and mineral notes (tar) and pipe tobacco. Very elegant on the nose. The palate is velvety yet lively. It is a persistent wine.

Vinification

Château Lafleur Gazin is harvested by hand and undergoes a double selection process: manual and optical. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled cement and stainless steel tanks. Once vinified, the wine matures in French oak barrels, of which 30-40% are new, for a period of 16-22 months.
