It was from the meeting in the early 1990s between Vittorio Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi that a new chapter in the history of great Tuscan wines began. Because from that meeting a wine was born, inspired by the desire to realise a dream: to create in Montalcino, a land of choice for the production of excellent wines, a wine that would go beyond the confines of tradition, without denying it, by drawing on the experience of two historic families in the world of wine. This ambitious project took the name Tenuta Luce, a name that evokes the light of the Montalcino sun, which is the source of life and nourishment, which marks the passage of the seasons and gives rhythm to every agricultural activity. Since then, Tenuta Luce has always honoured this vision, and the estate's flagship wine, Luce, has been joined by other exclusive wines, capable of transcending the boundaries of their own territory, earning unanimous acclaim internationally as well.
In 2005, the baton was passed to Lamberto Frescobaldi, Vittorio's son. Today, it is he who holds the helm of Tenuta Luce and directs its production guidelines, from the vineyard to the creation of the blends of each vintage. A work founded on respect for the land and the people, which leads to transforming the fruits of the vine into fine wines that reflect the beauty of the territory from which they are born. With the latest acquisition, in 2016, Tenuta Luce has equipped itself with a new winery, an underground structure perfectly integrated into the land of Montalcino, inside which is Collezione Luce, its historic cellar. The values of Tenuta Luce always guide every choice. And if in the vineyards there is the beauty of nature, here there is a beauty built by man to inspire us to always work better.
Sol Solis. It is the radiant sun, the inspiring symbol of the Luce brand. It is the sun chiselled on the high altar of the Church of Santo Spirito, in Florence, commissioned in the 15th century from Brunelleschi and built on land donated by the Frescobaldi family.
An ambitious project named Luce in homage to the sun that gives us warmth, energy, life.
Description
Brunello di Montalcino “Luce” is a great Tuscan DOCG red wine made from pure Sangiovese, produced by Tenuta Luce. It is a wine of great elegance and structure, aged for two years in wood, expressing complex aromas of red fruits and flowers, spices, tobacco and cocoa on the nose. In the mouth it is full, harmonious and very persistent, representing one of the most refined and representative Brunellos of the territory.
Organoleptic characteristics:
The nose is distinguished by the intense aromatic expression of red fruits, such as cherries in spirit, ripe plums and hints of orange, accompanied by nuances of tobacco and the sweet spiciness of liquorice. In the mouth it is very pleasant, soft and enveloping, but at the same time dynamic, supported by well ripe tannins that lead to a finish in which fresh citrus sensations re-emerge.
Storage time:
20 years
Vinification
Temperature-controlled fermentation in cement
