Cellar

Curatolo Arini is the oldest producer of Marsala in Sicily, since 1875, and is still run by the founder's descendants. Grillo, Catarratto and Inzolia grow in the coastal region of Marsala. The sun, heat and constant winds that mitigate temperatures by drying the night humidity brought by the sea together with the generosity of the red soils make this terroir the ideal place to cultivate these typical island varieties characterised by strong notes, richness in aroma and sugar

Description

Produced from indigenous Grillo, Cataratto and Inzolia grapes, DOC white wine, alchol and cooked must are combined according to the same old family recipe, and patiently aged in Slavonian oak barrels for over 4 years.

Organoleptic characteristics:

Topaz colour with amber highlights. Hints of dried figs, sultanas, vanilla and wood stand out on the nose. The palate is soft and balanced, moderately dry with a spicy finish.

Storage time:

over 5 years

Vinification

Destemming and roller crushing. Maceration and fermentation at a controlled temperature of 25 - 28 C° in stainless steel for about 14 days to transform all sugars into alcohol and to optimally extract polyphenols, which are important for the ageing phase. Wine alcohol is added until the minimum alcohol content of 18 degrees is reached, as well as mistelle and cooked must.
