The Antinori have dedicated themselves to the art of wine-making for more than six hundred years: ever since Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri in 1385. For 26 generations, the family has always directly managed this activity with innovative and sometimes courageous choices, but always maintaining unaltered respect for tradition and for the territory. Every vintage, every soil, every idea is a new beginning, a new search for ever higher quality margins. As Marquis Piero likes to say: "ancient roots play an important role in our philosophy, but they have never inhibited our innovative spirit".

Description

Tignanello is an iconic wine of the Marchesi Antinori winery and Tuscan viticulture of excellence. It was produced from Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
It is the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques and the first 'modern' red, blended with non-traditional varieties and among the first red wines in Chianti Classico not to use white grapes. This wine is a true milestone in the history of the most important, historic and famous wines of Italy and the world.

Organoleptic characteristics:

It has a deep, intense ruby red colour. The nose shows notes of ripe red fruit, diamarena, sour cherry and currants, combined with sweet hints of vanilla, mint and delicate sensations of white pepper and myrtle. The palate is rich and well-balanced with soft, silky tannins that are supported by an excellent freshness that provides length, elegance and persistence of flavour.
