The history of Angiuli Donato winery began in 1880, a family history which is still going on today.
The winery, located in Adelfia in the heart of the wine growing area of production of Primitivo DOP Gioia del Colle, today is led by Donato Angiuli with the collaboration of his sons Vito and Giuseppe.
As winemakers, their philosophy, from 1880 to today, has remained unchanged: the territory must be respected; hence the desire to cultivate native vines that blend well with the nature of the soil and microclimate.
Donato Angiuli for the niche wines of his winery created the brand "Maccone", from the dialectal name of the first cellarman of Angiuli winery, a man of great personality, professionalism and fame in the local agricultural field.
Wines of this line come from grapes of old Alberello vineyards having an average age between 50 and 80 years old, which produce very few bunches per vine, thus intensifying and greatly increasing the quality of the final product.
Passion and creativity led to the production of Spumante Brut Metodo Ancestrale (fermented in bottle without adding yeasts and sugars), unique in the international wine scene.
