Karas is an Armenian winery founded by the Eurnekian family. The family fled Armenia and settled in Argentina, where they established a winery a few years later. After success in South America, the family decided to bring Karas back to its roots by planting its second vineyard in Armenia under the eternal gaze of Mount Ararat.
Karas means "amphora" in Armenian, a sacred clay wine-making vessel used here for 6,000 years.
