In 1997, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, president of the advisory board of Baroness Philippe de Rothschild SA, and Eduardo Guilisasti Tagle, president of Viña Concha y Toro SA, signed a partnership agreement with the aim of creating an exceptional Franco-Chilean wine called Almaviva.
Produced under the joint technical supervision of both partners, the first vintage has been an immediate international success since its launch in 1998.
Description
Almaviva is the result of a French-Chilean collaboration between two great wine companies, Château Rotchild and Viña Concha y Toro. The aim was to create a great Chilean wine from a Bordeaux blend. The result materialised in Almaviva, one of the world's most recognised reds. Already from its first vintage, in 1996, L'Almaviva was a success. L'Almaviva is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
