The maison was founded in 1760 in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, a grand cru village on the Côte des Blancs, by François Delamotte. Champagne Delamotte works this enchanting terroir to cultivate chardonnay, the only white grape variety used to produce champagne.Bernard, began his career with his brother at Delamotte before taking over in 1949 the management of the Laurent-Perrier house bought between the two world wars by their mother. Since 1997, Didier Depond has managed both champagne houses: Delamotte and Salon. He develops the image and reputation of the two brands in more than fifty countries, making Delamotte's motto "Vive et me Ama" resonate more than ever. For over 260 years, we have been developing four different cuvées, a small range that offers amateurs and experts alike a clear understanding of the art of champagne. Delamotte Champagnes are distinguished by their texture, delicacy and exceptional character.

Description

In a bottle of Maison Delamotte's Brut, an orchestra of three grape varieties plays a particularly balanced score. The 60% of Chardonnay forms the backbone of its structure while the 35% of Pinot Noir from Tours-sur-Marne, Bouzy and Ambonnay gives it depth and fruit. The 5% of Pinot Meunier perfects these harmonies with aromatic density. Without ever assaulting the palate, this is a wonderfully powerful champagne. Freshness and roundness combine to offer a clean, fruity finish with a well-balanced, elegant length on the palate. A slight dosage is added to the Delamotte Brut champagne after thirty-six months of maturation on the lees, as is the case for the entire Delamotte range.

Organoleptic characteristics:

Straw yellow in colour, with golden highlights, and a very fine and persistent perlage. Its nose is extremely pure with elegant hints of citrus fruits, white flowers, lemon peel and musk accompanied by light almond notes. The palate is fresh and fruity, with a pleasant roundness that accompanies a lingering, creamy effervescence on the finish.

Vinification

It is made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes, which are harvested and selected meticulously by hand. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for 30 to 36 months on its lees before disgorging.
