Severino Garofano's family winery is located in Copertino, in the heart of Salento. For more than half a century, this company has been exporting its Negroamaro wines to almost all European markets. The majority of these are Copertino 'controlled designation of origin' wines, which are accompanied by other reds, with considerable success, and also white wines from local and extra-regional varieties.
Description
Girofle is the rosé of the Salento tradition, the French expression 'clou de girofle' means 'clove', hence the appellation of this label, a tribute to the producer who helped make Negroamaro great. A fruity and pleasantly spicy wine.
Organoleptic characteristics:
To the eye it is coral red, brilliant, with cherry tones. The nose recalls notes of flowers, with nuances of red fruits and spices, pleasant, crisp and with good freshness on the palate.
Storage time:
1-3 years
Vinification
brief maceration on the skins. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in cement vats and the wine then matures for a few months in steel before bottling and release, which takes place in the spring following the harvest.
