Cantina Pasetti's history goes back five generations, beginning in the Bourbon era and continuing to the present day. The turning point for the company came in the 1960s, with the start of winemaking on its own: the result was extremely positive and the company managed to make a name for itself by increasing its turnover and clientele.
Then, in the 1980s, it was Mimmo Pasetti, by now well on his way to studying oenology, who gave the company the push to dare to bottle its own Montepulciano: he did so to celebrate the birth of his daughter Francesca, a little girl with red hair just like her father Franco's mother, Donna Rachele.
This is how Testarossa was born, the symbol of the winery and of the family, which for five generations has carried on the work of viticulture with the same passion and determination.
Mimmo Pasetti runs the company today and is a visionary entrepreneur: his project came to life at the beginning of the new millennium, when he started to buy the first land in Pescosansonesco, in the heart of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park.
The Pescosansonesco soil, clay-limestone and rich in skeleton, is perfect for the cultivation of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. In addition, the significant temperature variations between day and night in this place at 550 metres above sea level ensure that the wine has a sensory profile of extraordinary elegance and quality.
Thus began the process of reconversion from the coastal area to the foothills, which will continue with the acquisition of other lands in Capestrano, Castiglione a Casauria and Ofena: the decision to produce in these places makes Azienda Pasetti the only one in Italy that to this day can boast the National Park logo on its bottles.
Today, Mimmo runs the company together with his three children, who have shared the work:
Francesca Rachele manages the administrative side, Massimo the export and international visibility and Davide, who instead is an oenologist and takes care of wine production.
