Cellar

The Tua Rita wine cellar is a true excellence in the Tuscan region. Rita Tua and her husband Virgilio began their journey into the wine world with 2 hectares of vineyards in 1984. From the original 2 hectares of vineyard, cultivated with the utmost rigour right from the start and which placed Tua Rita among the first happy Italian experiences built on the 'vin de garage' model, in the space of about ten years they grew to 9, then to 20, at the beginning of the new millennium, to arrive at the current 30 hectares of vineyards. Enlarged and completely overhauled between 2000 and 2002 to support a high-profile production, which now stands at 220,000 bottles, Tua Rita's wine cellar obeys operational requirements first and foremost, in the great Italian tradition of the artisanal winery. Few and unobtrusive, moreover, are the oenological interventions. Annual production oscillates around 250-280 thousand bottles. The company produces both red and white wines, all with an extremely elegant and personalised style.

Description

Its name pays homage to one of Suvereto's most fascinating religious buildings, the church of San Giusto, and to the winery's first vineyard, located in the Notri area. First produced in 1992, it is a Cabernet-based wine, enriched with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Considered the flagship wine of Tua Rita, it accompanies the history of the winery from its origins and fully represents its philosophy.

Organoleptic characteristics:

It has an intense and compact ruby red colour. The nose offers a broad and articulate profile, characterised by ripe aromas of wild berries, accompanied by refined spicy and balsamic nuances that evoke the Mediterranean maquis, as well as delicate toasted hints. In the mouth it reveals an important structure, supported by great complexity and a fine and elegant tannic texture. The finish develops on mineral sensations that give freshness and long persistence.
