Originated from the Eocene relief that determined the spread of an extensive area of colluvial materials around it and marls and sandstones belonging to the flyschiode formation that give rise to a rocky substrate.
The history of Silvio Jermann and of his winery began in the 1970's, a path that in the course of thirty years has led his wines to be known worldwide. His family, owner of many of the lands still used today, settled in Collio at the end of the nineteenth century. The turning point, however, came when a young Silvio took the reins of the winery and, thanks to the many teachings he learnt during his studies in enology and the experiences abroad, he started making modern wines having a great personality, the same ones we know today as well. A winery which can count on more than 130 hectares of vineyards, which every day dialogues with the world but whose attention is always focused on the concrete things that make a wine great. Love for the land is indeed the cornerstone of this winery, a great pearl of Collio, renowned for its exceptional white wines as well as for its robust and traditional reds.
Description
Jermann's Sauvignon is a "climbing" white wine: between one sip and the next, it knows how to win over those who taste it, rising in rhythm, with a cadenced pace, each time better than before, pleasantly approaching the drink.
An authentic and didactic expression of the Sauvignon grape, vinified in purity, in Friulian soil that exudes intense varietal sensations of spearmint, elderflower and green pepper on the nose, supported by a well-balanced sip between freshness and savoriness.
