From a common passion for the countryside and agricultural activities, Dora and Maria Luisa with Arturo, Roberto and Francesco started in 1991 the production of a high quality wine with the dream of renewing the ancient tradition of noble Campania vines. Today Roberto is no longer with us, but it is also as a tribute to his person that Galardi's commitment to the pursuit of oenological expression at the highest quality levels is perpetuated. The potential of the volcanic soil sloping down towards the sea and the meeting with Riccardo Cotarella, an oenologist of great value who is particularly sensitive to the recovery and enhancement of the wines of the South, led to the birth, in 1994, of a product that aroused incredible emotion in everyone
Description
Terra di Rosso is produced with 100% from Piedirosso grapes, an indigenous vine from Campania, called 'Per e Palummo' (pigeon's foot) by the ancients for the reddish colour of its stalk and the branching of its leaves, resembling the pigeon's foot. It is cultivated with great care by the Fattoria La Rivolta winery, reflecting its simple and direct profile, which authentically recounts a grape variety that, especially in recent years, has been garnering more than positive criticism. The vineyards are located on the volcano of Roccamonfina, facing west in the Terra di Lavoro.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Bright ruby colour with brilliant violet hues. The nose is fruity with raspberry, cherry, floral notes of rose and vegetal notes of nettle and geranium, with faint hints of humus. The palate is full, fruity and vinous with a long persistence. On the palate, savouriness and minerality prevail over softness, the tannin is delicate, barely perceptible.
Storage time:
5-7 years
Vinification
Skin contact for 20 days, with sinking of the cap several times a day. Malolactic fermentation fully developed in steel containers.
