The Antinori have dedicated themselves to the art of wine-making for more than six hundred years: ever since Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri in 1385.
For 26 generations, the family has always directly managed this activity with innovative and sometimes courageous choices, but always maintaining unaltered respect for tradition and for the territory.
Every vintage, every soil, every idea is a new beginning, a new search for ever higher quality margins. As Marquis Piero likes to say: "ancient roots play an important role in our philosophy, but they have never inhibited our innovative spirit".
Description
The red wine "Vie Cave" of Marchesi Antinori was born in the vineyards of the Fattoria Aldobrandesca, from careful geological and oenological research aimed at enhancing the potential of a grape variety new to the Italian panorama, Malbec, a grape of French origin. Balanced, with a marked softness, it encapsulates all the charm of the production territory. The name is dedicated to the Etruscan Vie Cave, deep streets carved into the rock that mark the farm's terrain.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Vie Cave 2019 is an intense ruby red colour. The nose shows notes of ripe black fruit combined with hints of spice and vanilla. The palate surprises with its balance: silky tannins are accompanied by fruity notes giving the wine an extraordinary persistence. In the finish, the aromas perceived on the nose return with pleasant sensations of bitter chocolate.
