Domaine de l'Ecu is located in the village of Le Landreau, near Nantes, in the heart of the Loire Valley. For 40 years, Guy Bossard has been transforming the vineyards first into organic farming and then into biodynamic farming. He passed the reins to Fred Niger, who continues production today following the same philosophy. Fred's goal is not to offer the best wines in the world, but vibrant, energetic wines without make-up. 22 hectares of vineyards are cultivated in the traditional bush style and grown without the use of pesticides, but only with biodynamic preparations aimed at strengthening the plants and their ability to naturally defend themselves against disease. The working approach in the cellar is based on absolute rigour and a refusal to intervene in an invasive manner, supporting the natural activity of indigenous yeasts and avoiding any additives, temperature control and the addition of sulphites during vinification. The wines of Domaine de l'Ecu are tasty, intense and rich in aromatic substance, freshness and excellent drinkability.
