Domaine de l'Ecu is located in the village of Le Landreau, near Nantes, in the heart of the Loire Valley. For 40 years, Guy Bossard has been transforming the vineyards, first into organic farming and then into biodynamic farming. He passed the reins to Fred Niger, who continues production today following the same philosophy. Fred's goal is not to offer the best wines in the world, but vibrant wines, full of energy and without make-up. 22 hectares of vineyards are cultivated using the traditional alberello system and grown without using pesticides, but only biodynamic preparations aimed at strengthening the plants and their ability to naturally defend themselves against disease. The working approach in the cellar is based on absolute rigour and a refusal to intervene in an invasive manner, supporting the natural activity of indigenous yeasts and avoiding any additives, temperature control and the addition of sulphites during vinification. The wines of Domaine de l'Ecu are tasty, intense and rich in aromatic substance, freshness and excellent drinkability.
