Our story takes place in a truly ancient land of spiritual and carnal harmony, in the temples of Nara in Japan.
The ancient capital of Japan, Nara holds many 8th century temples that imperturbably lend its power to the sacred capital.
The Ōmiwa Shrine in Nara is one of the oldest existing Shinto shrines in Japan. It is a tutelary shrine of Japanese alcohol producers. The most famous families of alcohol producers are located in Nara, and these families have a centuries-old tradition of producing alcohol for Ōmiwa.
The alcohol produced by these families is served as a blessing in Shinto temples.
he Ōmiwa Shrine is located at the foot of Mount Miwa, a sacred mountain guarded by the shrine.
Mount Miwa has many legends and has been worshipped since ancient times as a sacred mountain of the god.
Inspired by the beautiful breezes coming from God Mountain, we named our whiskey KAMIKI where "KAMI" means "GOD" and "IKI" means "BREATH".
Kamiki is the "world's first whiskey brand with a Japanese cedar barrel finish"
Yoshino Sugi is considered the best wood to make local beverage barrels for its refreshing, fragrant flavor and wood aroma. Our blend is rested a second time in Yoshino Sugi barrels to capture a perfectly smooth taste, a sandalwood scent on the nose and a green tea zest on the finish. This second maturation makes our whisky unique.
