Winery
Banfi winery was established in 1978 thanks to the will of Italian-American brothers John and Harry Mariani. Since the beginning, the two brothers envisioned a large-scale project, integrating a quality wine production with a modern winery with the objective of always maintaining the high quality level of the wines produced. Alongside the Mariani family, Ezio Rivella, one of the greatest Italian enologists, who immediately believed that because of the richness of the nature of the soil and the privileged microclimatic position, the acquired territories would have had great development potential.
In those years, brothers John and Harry also took over the historical Piedmontese winery Bruzzone, active since 1860 and specialized in the production of sparkling wines, in order to make it the Piedmontese brand of the group, today Banfi Piemonte.
Description
The wines of Bolgheri are world famous thanks to the special soil characteristics and sunny microclimate that have fostered the growth of international grape varieties of Bordeaux origin, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Aska wine was produced from Cabernet Sauvignon 90% and Cabernet Franc 10% grapes.
Organoleptic characteristics:
This wine has an intense and complex aroma, characterized by blueberry and fruit jam followed by notes of tobacco and cocoa. In the mouth it is soft, with sweet and elegant tannins. A long and persistent mouthfeel finish. A wine with good aging potential.
Storage time:
5-7 years old
Vinification
Fermentation: temperature-controlled (25-28°) in steel vats.
