Anna and Ernesto Abbona, together with their children Valentina and Davide, are the faithful interpreters of the diversity of places, vineyards and vines.
They rigorously respect and preserve their typicality by vinifying grapes from their own vineyards and from vine growers selected over many years, favouring the location and cultivation capacity of the individual vineyards.
Description
Cannubi is the long, gradually rising hill at the centre of the Barolo area. It is the characteristics of the soil and its enviable microclimate that give Cannubi completeness and balance, a harmonious synthesis between structure and perfumes and elegance in the tannins, associating consummate readiness with extraordinary longevity.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Ruby red colour with garnet hues.
Intense aroma with clear hints of rose, vanilla, spices and toasted oak. Faded note of absinthe.
Full-bodied and elegant taste, austere, with soft, enveloping tannins.
The spicy and woody notes blend perfectly.
Storage time:
over 7 years
Vinification
Gentle crushing and destemming; temperature-controlled fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks.
Maceration on the skins for about 10 days with periodic soft pumping over.
Malolactic fermentation in vitrified cement vats at a controlled temperature of 22°.
