The Querciabella winery is located in Greve in Chianti, in the cradle of Chianti classico. It was founded in 1974 by Giuseppe Castiglioni, a pioneer of biodynamic and organic farming in Italy, an industrial entrepreneur and lifelong wine enthusiast who bought a single hectare of vineyard on a Tuscan hillside and set about creating an estate that would soon encompass the entire region. Today, Querciabella spreads over about 100 hectares and produces cult supertuscan wines such as Batàr and Camartina, which have won multiple awards from international critics. Querciabella wines are present in 54 countries around the world and represent one of the undisputed pinnacles of Italian oenology.
Description
Supertuscan 'Camartina' is a great red wine, the flagship of the famous Querciabella winery. This exceptional wine, made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese grapes, is one of the few historic wines that have significantly elevated the position and prestige of Italian wine production on the world stage.
Organoleptic characteristics:
It has an intense ruby red colour. Its bouquet is rich in the floral fabric interwoven with hints of wild herbs, fleshy blackberries and cedar spice, promising elegance and balance even in this warmer vintage. The palate is full, revealing an abundance of ripe black cherries and plums, blackcurrants, cassis and a slight earthiness with a touch of black pepper. The fine structure of this wine lies in the perfect integration of sophisticated and robust tannins together with brilliant acidity that weave it together.
