Catena Zapata was founded in 1902, in Argentina. Nicola Catena, the founder of the winery, was a pioneer in the resurrection of Malbec and the discovery of terroirs of extreme altitudes in the foothills of the Andes in Mendoza. In 1902, he planted his first Malbec vineyard in Mendoza. Today, the company is in its fourth generation and produces high-quality wines from six historical vineyards: Angélica, La Pirámide, Nicasia, Domingo, Adrianna and Angélica Sur.
Description
Catena Malbec from the famous Catena Zapata Winery was produced from malbec grapes harvested in the vineyards of Mendoza. It is a blend of three vineyards - the vineyards are divided into lots that are harvested at different times. It is an excellent red wine with soft tannins, juicy and delicious.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Intense ruby red colour. The nose offers hints of red fruit, ripe plum, cherry and sweet spices. In the mouth it is expressive, warm, voluminous and silky.
Storage time:
5-7 years
Vinification
alcoholic fermentation for 10-16 days with a post-fermentation maceration of 19-22 days. Wild yeasts.
