The Gaja family settled in Piedmont in the mid-17th century. Five generations have taken turns in wine production since Giovanni Gaja, in 1859, founded the winery in Barbaresco, in the heart of the Langhe.
Today Gaja owns about 250 hectares of vineyards in the provinces of Tuscany and Piedmont, producing about 350,000 bottles annually.
Description
Alteni di Brassica di Gaja is a great white wine made from pure Sauvignon grapes from vineyards located in the heart of the Langhe. The name comes from Alteni, small stone walls that once surrounded the plots, and Brassica, yellow flowers that cover the vineyards in spring.
Organoleptic characteristics:
It has a deep yellow color. The nose is intensely fruity with floral and spicy notes. The palate manifests a balanced body and dense structure supported by remarkable freshness. It demonstrates excellent bottle-aging ability.
