The great story of Tenute Chiaromonte began in 1826, the year in which the Primitivo grape variety was officially recognised. A small family-run business, knowledge handed down from generation to generation, a passion for the land that has never waned and is carried forward with pride and commitment.
1998. One winter evening, a buyer peeps at Nicola Chiaromonte's door interested in his Primitivo wine. That man would change his life. That same year, Nicola, the last descendant of the family, took the reins of the winery with courage and perseverance and began producing the wine that would make him proud of his land and his origins.
Today. Today, Nicola Chiaromonte, with the help of his friend and entrepreneur Paolo Montanaro, runs Tenute Chiaromonte, which comprises more than 60 hectares of vineyards and centuries-old olive groves, all organically cultivated. Experimentation, curiosity and commitment have led Tenute Chiaromonte to win the greatest challenge of all: to promote the Primitivo Doc Gioia del Colle and other indigenous grape varieties in the world, winning numerous awards.
