Winery
The historic Sicilian winery Palmento Costanzo was born on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, within the volcano's Natural Park, a Unesco heritage site. The winery is located in Contrada Santo Spirito, which is the vocated production area in Passo Pisciaro, awarded as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Attentive to the values of tradition and quality, the company aims to produce a wine that is an expression of the potential of the area, cultivated manually and organically. Territoriality, climatic and morphological peculiarities of the production areas, and respect for the environment are the values on which the winery is based. More than a hundred terraces, with dry-stone lava walls, guard a vineyard cultivated with alberello vines, which climbs the slopes of the volcano from 600 to 800 meters above sea level: all the vines, even those more than a century old, are supported by chestnut poles and surround the ancient Palmento, brought back to life through a meticulous conservative restoration of bio-architecture.
