Venica & Venica is a family business that was founded in 1930 in Dolegna del Collio, in the province of Gorizia, when grandfather Daniele Venica bought the main body of the company. Today, ninety years later, the Venica family, with 40 hectares of vineyards all in the D.O.C. COLLIO production area, continues to produce the great wines of the territory with passion, sacrifice, success and unceasing love for the land, its vineyards and its grapes.
Description
Petris from the Venica & Venica Winery was produced from Istrian Malvasia grapes. It is a wine with great minerality, sapidity, supported by mineral hints.
Long aromatic persistence. The sound of the name Petris also recalls the Friulian word for 'stone', or 'piere': the area, in fact, is characterised by a particularly rocky subsoil, from which some stones, still present in the walls of the Venica farmhouse, were taken.
Organoleptic characteristics:
It has a brilliant golden yellow colour. Fruity notes reminiscent of apricot and aromatic herbs such as sage and thyme stand out on the nose. A great minerality characterises Malvasia 'Pètris'. The apricot returns on the palate. Savouriness, supported by mineral hints, plays the leading role. Long aromatic persistence.
Storage time:
Over 5 years
Vinification
The grapes are then macerated for 18/24 hours at a temperature of 11°/12° C in special containers.
