Fossacolle is a small jewel-cellar with only 4 hectares of land located in the southern area of Montalcino. It is three generations united by a passion for wine. Marchetti Sergio, owner of the winery, is part of an ancient family whose origins date back to the 18th century. The descendants of this family lived and worked as farmers in the lands of a great and noble lineage. In the early 1980s the owner of these lands, selling the land where the Marchetti family lived, decided to donate the "Podere Fossacolle" to them so in 1984 the winemaking activity began with the first Sangiovese vineyards.
