Anna and Ernesto Abbona, together with their children Valentina and Davide, are the faithful interpreters of the diversity of places, vineyards and vines.
They rigorously respect and preserve their typicality by vinifying grapes from their own vineyards and from vine growers selected over many years, favouring the location and cultivation capacity of the individual vineyards.
Description
Serragrilli is a gentle hill in the commune of Neive facing south-west, where the Nebbiolo grapes receive the sun's rays until late in the evening. The soil has a uniform structure and composition.
Acknowledged as an area with a high wine vocation, Serragrilli produces a Barbaresco of great pleasantness: decisive and full-bodied on the palate but, at the same time, harmonious and balanced, with sweet tannins, never too prominent, that ensure excellent longevity.
Organoleptic characteristics:
The colour is ruby red, with garnet reflections.
The bouquet is intense, persistent, with distinct hints of small fruits, dog rose and spices.
The flavour is full-bodied, full-bodied, but, at the same time, harmonious and balanced, with sweet tannins, never too prominent.
Storage time:
2-15 years
Vinification
Gentle crushing and destemming; temperature-controlled fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks.
Maceration on the skins with periodic soft pumping over for about 8 days.
Malolactic fermentation in vitrified cement vats at a controlled temperature of around 22°.
