The great story of Tenute Chiaromonte began in 1826, the year in which the Primitivo grape variety was officially recognised. A small family-run business, knowledge handed down from generation to generation, a passion for the land that has never waned and is carried forward with pride and commitment.
1998. One winter evening, a buyer peeps at Nicola Chiaromonte's door interested in his Primitivo wine. That man would change his life. That same year, Nicola, the last descendant of the family, took the reins of the winery with courage and perseverance and began producing the wine that would make him proud of his land and his origins.
Today. Today, Nicola Chiaromonte, with the help of his friend and entrepreneur Paolo Montanaro, runs Tenute Chiaromonte, which comprises more than 60 hectares of vineyards and centuries-old olive groves, all organically cultivated. Experimentation, curiosity and commitment have led Tenute Chiaromonte to win the greatest challenge of all: to promote the Primitivo Doc Gioia del Colle and other indigenous grape varieties in the world, winning numerous awards.
Description
A story that starts in the past, embedded in the wine history of Terra d'Acquaviva. A passion that has never been quenched, a return to the origins while respecting traditions and with an eye to modern technological innovations and a pinch of experimentation that has led to surprising results. The classic method is obtained in part from an international grape variety, Chardonnay, accompanied by a rediscovered ancient Apulian grape variety, Fiano, from vineyards at 380 metres above sea level.
Organoleptic characteristics:
It presents itself to the eye with a straw yellow colour, a nose of great impact with notes of peach blossom, delicate buttery notes, and sweet spices.
On the palate it is wonderfully balanced, creamy and persistent.
