Gaja wines have long been an integral part of Made in Italy, a recognizable brand and object of desire for all wine lovers. Angelo Gaia is a star on the world wine scene. A producer who is credited with transforming not only the'image and international reputation of his Piedmont region, but also that of'Italy. He has greatly influenced the processes of growing'grapes, winemaking, distribution and marketing. Gaia is one of the few brands that can compete with the best producers in Bordeaux and Burgundy in both quality and price.
The Gaja family settled in Piedmont in the mid-17th century. Five generations have taken turns in wine production since Giovanni Gaja, in 1859, founded the winery in Barbaresco, in the heart of the Langhe.
Today Gaja owns about 250 hectares of vineyards in the provinces of Tuscany and Piedmont, producing about 350,000 bottles annually.
Description
Promis from Angelo Gaja's Tuscan winery Ca'Marcanda was made from Merlot 50%, Syrah and Sangiovese grapes. The grapes were grown in the beautiful and famous Bolgheri area.
This is a great full-bodied, warm and enveloping wine.
Organoleptic characteristics:
It has a deep ruby red color. The nose is complex and deep, with hints of ripe red fruits. It is rich and warm on the palate.
