Di Majo Norante is a'winery that has been producing its wines exclusively from the 123 hectares of the ancient feud of the Marquis Norante di Santa Cristina in Campomarino since the 19th century. The oenological philosophy of the Di Majo Norante estate respects the traditional approach to vine cultivation and wine production, in an attempt to preserve all the characteristics of Mediterranean grape varieties. Masseria di Majo Norante is located north of the Gargano, in contrada Ramitelli, in the countryside of Campomarino, where the clayey, partly sandy soil and the summer breeze combine to create a particularly favourable habitat. Alessio di Majo Norante, a stubborn and countercultural winemaker, has sacrificed productivity and standardisation of taste to the constant pursuit of quality and typicality, in the conviction that southern vines are better suited to the soil and climatic conditions of the Molise countryside. The experimentation with these vines and the good results achieved have encouraged the winery to persevere in the courageous choice that allows it to produce great wines that respond perfectly to the complexity of contemporary tastes.

Description

Ramitello is made from 80% montepulciano and 20% aglianico grapes. It is a cru that is the result of a combination of the best grapes, an expression of the great and autochthonous natural harmony of the land. It takes its name from Contrada Ramitello and the vineyard of the same name, which grows on clay soil and slopes slowly down to the sea, inhaling the breeze and scents of Molise's Mediterranean scrub. An everyday but still elegant wine. The vines are recently planted and are cultivated at an altitude of about 100 metres on clay soil, following many precepts of organic farming.

Organoleptic characteristics:

Ruby red colour with violet hues. The nose opens with an intense bouquet, in which hints of plum stand out, enriched by pleasant spicy notes of leather and liquorice. The palate is full, pleasantly soft and velvety, with a perfectly balanced body.

Storage time:

2-5 years

Vinification

Maceration in contact with the skins for about a month. Maturation part in casks and steel vats - 6 months in bottles.
