Tasca d'Almerita is a Sicilian winery which can boast a long presence in the world of viticulture. The history of the winery, rich in traditions, origins and love for its land, began in 1830, with the purchase of the Regaleali estate, from the Arabic "Rahl Alì", the house of Alì, 1,200 hectares in the countryside of Sclafani Bagni, in the center of Sicily. Today Tasca d'Almerita, the symbol of Sicilian wine excellence, cultivates vines in five different estates, all in Sicily - Regaleali, Capofaro, Tascante, Whitaker and Sallier de La Tour - each one with its own characteristics. The winery produces many high quality wines: four white wines (Regaleali, Leone d'Almerita, Nozze d'Oro and Chardonnay), six red wines (Regaleali Nero d'Avola, Lamùri, Cygnus, Camastra, Rosso del Conte, Cabernet Sauvignon), one rosé (Regaleali Le Rose), one classic method sparkling wine (Almerita) and one sweet wine (Diamante d'Almerita). Tasca d'Almerita family has focused not only on the production of quality wines, but also on respecting the environment in order to hand down a healthy territory to the next generations. It has invested a lot in technological innovation and cultivation techniques.

Description

San Lucio is Regaleali's oldest vineyard that has the ability to withstand the influence of extreme climates, and produce a few grams of grapes per plant, of incredible consistency in quality. It is grown using the alberello system, the oldest and most widespread form of cultivation in the semi-arid regions of the Mediterranean.
It was from this large vineyard identified on the Regaleali Estate that the first and subsequent editions of Rosso del Conte were born. It is a powerful and expressive wine that is left to age in French oak barrels for 18 months.

Organoleptic characteristics: 

On the aromatic level, Rosso del Conte never exceeds in overripe notes, while guaranteeing full phenolic maturity. Exuberant, vibrant, energetic in its youth, with ageing it develops a velvety tactile relief, without losing tone and gustative progression.
