Biondi Santi have the merit of having started the tradition of Brunello di Montalcino. It rarely happens that the origins of a wine can be traced back to one single man. Brunello di Montalcino, however, owes its existence to the Biondi Santi family, which in the 19th century began making pure Sangiovese wine in Montalcino. Since 1888, the first vintage of Brunello in history, Biondi-Santi has continued to produce wines renowned for their elegance and longevity. Careful attention to detail and craftsmanship aimed at excellence have accompanied the company throughout its history, making the Brunello produced at Tenuta Greppo one of the most renowned Italian wines of all time.
Description
Fruity and fragrant, Rosso from the famous Tuscan winery Biondi-Santi paves the way for Brunello. For Biondi-Santi, Rosso has always been a special wine with a precise identity: it reflects Biondi-Santi's elegant style with important structure and freshness, elements that are fundamental to the wine's longevity, but what stands out is its fruity character that makes it perfect to taste even at a young age.
Organoleptic characteristics:
It has a deep ruby red color. Rosso di Montalcino 2019 gives us fresh and energetic notes of cherry, blood orange, pomegranate, violet and honeysuckle, followed by balsamic hints of herbs, licorice root and menthol. The olfactory and taste sensations are perfectly aligned. On the palate, crisp tannins and lively acidity lend both lightness and substance to the fruity core of this Rosso, guiding us to a savory, lingering finish punctuated by mineral notes. The longer the wine is allowed to oxygenate in the glass, the more the complexity and depth of this wonderful vintage is revealed.
