The history of the Poli family of Schiavon
is the story of many families from Veneto who settled on the Asiago plateau in the late Middle Ages to clear and cultivate the land. Families who, towards the end of the 19th century, descended to the plains, where it was easier to conduct productive and commercial activities. This is what the Poli family did, and in the space of five hundred years, from their native Gomarolo, they moved three times, covering a total of eighteen kilometres, to get to Schiavon, where they still reside today. A craft distillery founded in 1898, it is the only Italian distillery selected by Lonely Planet as one of the 10 craft distilleries in the world worth visiting.
