'Feudi Salentini' is a clear reference to Feudalism, when carriages and castles, ladies and knights were the protagonists of the magnificent panorama of this enchanted land where wine was considered the most prestigious and healthy drink.
Cosimo and Maria Teresa Varvaglione, with a team of young collaborators, every day write a story made of quality and love for this land. Bush-trained vines, grapes harvested by hand as they were then, ancient knowledge handed down over time...
In the winery, ancient traditions and modern technology transform extraordinary grapes into excellent wines. Feudi Salentini was established in 1994 in Leporano in one of the most beautiful areas of Salento, surrounded by vineyards, centuries-old olive trees and a crystal clear sea. We believe that the quality expressed in a wine can become the symbol of a territory, of a history that repeats itself, of a passion spanning generations. These awards give energy to a young and motivated group led by Cosimo and Maria Teresa Varvaglione.
Description
Primitivo is an Italian black grape variety that finds in the clay and limestone soils of Apulia the ideal territory in which to germinate and bear fruit. It is particularly widespread in the province of Taranto, a city in the Salento region of southern Italy, where the climate is hot and dry. Primitivo is generally harvested between the end of August and the first ten days of September.
125 Primitivo del Salento from the Feudi Salentini winery is a red wine with an excellent structure, aged for about three months in American barriques.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Ruby red to the eye, it is intense on the nose with hints of ripe plums, tobacco leaves, cherry jam and cocoa notes. In the mouth it is remarkably structured, balanced and with ripe tannins. Persistent, it grants a pleasant finish with notes of vanilla and cocoa.
Storage time:
10-15 years
Vinification
Maceration at a controlled temperature of 24-28 °C.
