The history of the Angiuli Donato winery began in 1880, a family story that to this day has no end.
The company, located in Adelfia in the heart of the Gioia del Colle PDO Primitivo wine-growing area, is today run by Donato Angiuli with the collaboration of his sons Vito and Giuseppe.
As winegrowers, their philosophy, from 1880 to today, has remained unchanged: the territory must be respected; hence the desire to cultivate indigenous vines that blend well with the nature of the soil and microclimate.
Donato Angiuli for the niche wines of his winery has created the 'Maccone' brand, from the dialectal name of the first cellarman of the Angiuli winery, a man of great personality, professionalism and fame in local agriculture.
The wines in this line come from grapes from old Alberello plantations with an average age of between 50 and 80 years, which produce very few bunches per vine, intensifying and considerably increasing the quality of the finished product.
Passion and creativity have led to the production of the Spumante Brut ancestral method (fermented in the bottle without the addition of yeasts and sugars), unique in the international wine scene.
Description
For three generations, the Angiuli family has produced this wine from old primitive clones.
The best grapes are harvested by hand and macerate for 15 to 18 days in stainless steel containers. Alcoholic fermentation takes place using indigenous yeasts. All this contributes to enhancing the typicality and fragrance of the fruit.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Ruby red colour with violet hues, perfume of aromatic herbs orange peel and sour cherry; the mouth is full and juicy, with a loose and tasty pace despite the amount of residual sugar.
Storage time:
3-4 years
Vinification
soft pressing of the grapes, submerged cap maceration with temperature-controlled fermentation for 10 days and racking
