Description
This Umbria Rosso IGT 'Ilbio' by Lungarotti is a wine that should be left in the cellar for a few years to fully enjoy its great potential. It is a Sagrantino grown organically (as its name suggests), which comes from clay soil, and which ferments in steel, matures in large barrels for ten months and after six months in the bottle is put on the market. A wine of splendid complexity, both olfactory and taste-olfactory.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Colour: bright, intense red.
Nose: good complexity and wide olfactory range: liquorice, cinnamon, pine resin and sweet tobacco, with a decisive finish on sweet spices and jam.
Taste: elegant and very enveloping on the attack, it has good alcohol content, a nice hint of red fruit and a balsamic touch; soft, dense tannins. Persistent aftertaste with well-balanced tannins.
Storage time:
2-5 years
Vinification
fermentation in steel with maceration on the skins for 20 days
