The prestigious wineries Marco Felluga and Russiz Superiore are two realities of Collio which find in their viticultural vocation - started in the second half of 1800, in Istria - what can be considered as a real dynasty of winemakers, which has been able to enhance the potentialities of some grapes and of territories with a vocation for vine.
In the thirties, after the First World War, Giovanni Felluga decided to move to Friuli and more precisely to Collio. Marco, the penultimate of Giovanni's seven sons, continued the family business and in 1956 he established the homonymous winery. To him, trained since he was young at the prestigious enology school of Conegliano, is due the path of innovation, quality and research.
The balance with which he managed to use innovation and tradition, made his winery a point of reference for the whole territory. Today, his son Roberto, who represents the fifth generation and now runs both wineries: Marco Felluga at Gradisca d'Isonzo (Gorizia) and Russiz Superiore at Capriva del Friuli (Gorizia), continues to follow the path of absolute quality he traced.
Description
Sauvignon Russiz Superiore is a white wine which combines depth and easy drinking, yet another success of one of the most prestigious wineries of Collio Friulano. A secular history binds the Felluga family and Friuli Venezia Giulia, in particular when talking about border lands such as Collio and Istria. Despite the tradition of viticulture has always been part of the family, the real qualitative leap took place when Marco Felluga took the reins of the winery in 1956, and followed by the following generations, he contributed to the achievement of international fame not only of the winery, but also of Collio wine production.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Straw yellow with green hues.
The bouquet denotes fantastic, intense and elegant vegetal and floral notes such as sage, fresh bell pepper, acacia flowers and grapefruit.
On the palate the freshness and savoriness marry beautifully. Structured and balanced, smooth with good extract, long finish.
