Name:
Sangaetano Primitivo di Manduria PDO 'celebration' 2020
Terrain:
presence of iron oxides, with limestone and rocky substrate.
Cellar
Cantine Due Palme was founded in 1989 and has as its main objective the vinification of quality products made from the typical grapes of the area such as Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera, Primitivo and Susumaniello. All production phases, from the cellar to the ageing process up to the bottling line, are guaranteed by meticulous quality controls. It is one of the few cooperatives in Italy to be able to boast the description on the back label of wines 'wholly produced' on the farm; a unique quality assurance and traceability of the supply chain, which makes it possible to follow the evolution of the raw material at any time, from the bunch of grapes to the glass of wine.
Uniting to grow: uniting to strengthen our presence in the territory, stimulating from the bottom a productive sharing centred on the quality of the grapes, organising ourselves to generate a strong propensity for international markets; these are the cornerstones of our company, which have allowed, and allow, many small producers to express their potential to the full, while respecting the three-thousand-year-old oenological tradition of our territory. We have always focused on the preservation of the Apulian Alberello, which allows us to obtain grapes of exceptional quality, with complex and full-bodied fruit. Cantine Due Palme is today a symbol of excellence in Apulian oenology, an important testimony to this territory, its history and tradition.
Description
'Sangaetano' sums up in its name the cooperative soul of Due Palme, which in 2012 incorporated a small social wine cellar in Lizzano, 'SanGaetano' precisely, to broaden its portfolio with the production of Primitivo di Manduria, as per the specifications made in the province of Taranto.
Organoleptic characteristics:
It has a dark ruby red colour with intense violet hues. The nose is marked by elegance and softness. On the palate it is full-bodied, soft and rich in noble tannins, with a vanilla and cocoa finish.
Vinification
aged for 6 months in American oak barrels to enhance tannins and structure
