The history of Mosnel is linked to the Barboglio family, who inherited the centuries-old residence with its 16th-century cellars and adjoining lands in the heart of Franciacorta in 1836. In 1968, Emanuela Barboglio planted the first specialised vineyards and adopted the newly-established DOC Franciacorta appellation for the first time. In 1976, the name 'Azienda Agricola Barzanò Barboglio' was abandoned in favour of the current 'Mosnel', a dialectal toponym of Celtic origin meaning 'pietraia', a heap of stones, on which the company stands. At the helm of Mosnel is the fifth generation of winegrowers, Emanuela Barboglio's sons: Giulio Barzanò takes care of the technical, production and commercial side; while Lucia Barzanò is in charge of marketing, external relations and administration. The family avails itself of the collaboration of a highly trained staff and experienced agronomists and oenologists who constantly monitor production and its evolution. In the 16th-century cellars of the centuries-old estate, the long winemaking tradition that the Barboglio family inherited in 1836 continues. With the newly-established Franciacorta DOC, the company has specialised in modern winemaking since 1968 under the expert guidance of Emanuela Barboglio. Today, her children, Giulio and Lucia Barzanò, collect this precious inheritance to hand it down renewed to future generations.

Description

Franciacorta Brut Nature DOCG from the Mosnel winery is a Metodo Classico sparkling wine made from only organic grapes such as Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and Pinot Noir harvested by hand. It is a generous, dynamic sparkling wine with a lively, savoury finish.

Organoleptic characteristics:

It is crystal clear with white gold tones and greenish hints. The nose presents citrus fruits of cedar and grapefruit, honeysuckle and verbena with a touch of iodine. The fruit has shades of white peach and of gooseberry. In the mouth it is generous without overflowing, taut and dynamic, with a lively, savoury finish.

Storage time:

2-3 years

Vinification

Blank, in pneumatic press with separation of first and second pressing. After 12 hours of decanting at 15° C, inoculation of selected organic yeasts selected organic yeasts for fermentation partly in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and partly in small oak barrels.
