Everything started in 2004 with the purchase of a small vineyard in the countryside of Manduria of 1.30 hectares. Since the beginning, the company's mission has been to produce wines from 50 to 90 years old vines, grown with the Apulian alberello system, with great personality and a strong territorial identity. Today the winery owns about 14.5 hectares of vineyards. Es, Primitivo di Manduria Doc, is immediately noticed by wine and food journalists and passionate bloggers ... it divides critics, Es is loved or hated. From the 2004 vintage onwards, Gianfranco Fino obtained the most important national awards, even bringing to Puglia in 2010 the title of Viticulturist of the Year of Gambero Rosso, an award that in Central and Southern Italy has never arrived before, (other winners Josko Gravner, Elio Altare, Romano Dal Forno, Marinella Camerani). Description

L’Es Red è un pregiato vino rosso pugliese di Gianfranco Fino. Prodotto con uve provenienti da alberelli di uve primitivo vecchi di più di 60 anni. Il vino più rappresentativo della cantina, capace come nessun altro di coniugare eleganza e concentrazione in un continuo rincorrersi tra acidità e calore. Ampio e generoso, “l’Es Red” è il risultato di un’attenta selezione dei grappoli raccolti dopo un leggero appassimento in pianta, vinificato in acciaio e lasciato maturare per 12 mesi in barrique e 48 mesi in bottiglia.

Organoleptic characteristics: 

Ha un colore rosso rubino scuro. Al naso esprime un caleidoscopio di sensazioni e di profumi. Sono note avvolgenti, che richiamano amarena, mirtillo, tabacco dolce, cuoio, spezie e erbe balsamiche. Al palato è caldo, avvolgente e elegante con un finale molto lungo.

Vinification 

Diraspatura, pigiatura soffice degli acini, macerazione in tino di acciaio inox, contatto bucce – mosto da 2 a 3 settimane, controllo della temperatura del capello di vinaccia, 2 délestage al giorno. Pressatura delle vinacce con pressa verticale idraulica.
